Subject: How Does Mario Break Blocks? Mon Oct 08, 2012 1:21 pm
I kinda wonder if this should just be 'nintendo in general' section?
Anyway, I have a question for you guys.
I always thought Mario hit blocks with his head, and only raised his arm for jump momentum. But then, someone mentioned that's totally wrong, and he actually hits them with his fists. If you look at his sprite, his hand is actually a PIXEL line above his head, so I suppose this is true....
HOWEVER! I don't think it's true in all situations...for instance, when you are raccoon mario flying around in Mario Bros. 3, you can definitely break blocks with your head alone. Or even when you're crouching, you break things with your head!
So the question is: Is he always breaking things with his head? Does he change it up? What do you guys think?

Nah, I think he does both. In the 3D version of the games, I think he does break them with his head, but the 2D games show him with his fist, I think.

I always thought he used his head, and his hat was undestructible so he wouldn't hurt his skull.
